The Kremlin has flatly rejected the idea of a territorial exchange between Russia and Ukraine, calling it “impossible”, according to Russian presidential spokesperson Dmitry Peskov on February 12.
Peskov was responding to a recent statement by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, who hinted at a potential exchange of Ukrainian-controlled territory in Russia’s Kursk region for other, unspecified areas.
"This is impossible," Peskov told reporters from Interfax. He emphasized that Russia has never and will never discuss exchanging its territory.
Peskov also warned that Ukrainian forces operating in Russian territory would be either "destroyed" or "expelled."
