At a security forum in Turkey, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov claimed NATO has outlived its purpose and should have been dissolved after the Cold War.

“NATO Should Have Disbanded After the USSR Fell”

Speaking at the Antalya Forum on April 12, Lavrov said:
“The Eastern Bloc disappeared, but NATO remained. That was a failed strategy.”

Lavrov Claims NATO Fuels Instability

Lavrov accused NATO and the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) of failing to prevent war and instead “preparing for a new one.”
