Lebanese Foreign Minister Abdallah Bou Habib has voiced his frustration with U.S. President Joe Biden's recent speech addressing the escalating conflict between Israel and Lebanon, criticizing it as insufficient and lacking in solutions.

The criticism comes as Lebanon grapples with the devastating impact of Israeli airstrikes, which have forced nearly half a million people to flee their homes and left more than 560 people dead, including many women and children.

In a virtual peace meeting held in New York, Bou Habib expressed his disappointment, claiming Biden’s speech to the UN General Assembly offered little hope for resolving the ongoing crisis.

"It was not strong, it was not promising, and it will not solve the problem," Bou Habib remarked, according to CNN.

The situation in Lebanon is being described as the worst since 2006, with hundreds of thousands displaced by the conflict. Israeli attacks on Monday and Tuesday alone have caused widespread destruction, leading to a humanitarian crisis in the country.

Biden, during his speech, briefly touched on the situation, acknowledging the displacement on both sides of the border and warning that a "full-scale war is not in anyone's interest."

Hezbollah Commander Killed in Israeli Strike

Meanwhile, tensions have escalated further following the death of Hezbollah commander Ibrahim Qubaisi in an Israeli airstrike on a building in a Beirut suburb. Hezbollah confirmed the death on Tuesday, with the Israeli military (IDF) acknowledging the attack earlier in the day.

The conflict continues to intensify, with Hezbollah launching an attack on a naval base along Israel’s northern Mediterranean coast. Although Hezbollah claimed responsibility for the strike, Israel has not confirmed any damage to the base.

On Wednesday morning, the Israeli military reported intercepting a rocket fired from Lebanon toward the Tel Aviv area, though no injuries were reported.
