This bacteria can cause listeriosis, a serious infection particularly dangerous for vulnerable groups including the elderly, pregnant women, newborns, and those with weakened immune systems.

Symptoms range from mild fever and muscle aches to severe headaches, confusion, and convulsions.

Consumers who purchased the affected product from Kroger and Payless Supermarkets should avoid consuming it and return it for a full refund or replacement.
