Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has officially dissolved the six-member war cabinet.
According to reports by Kurier, this decision came after opposition politician and former general Benny Gantz withdrew from the emergency government due to ongoing internal disputes over the future of the Gaza Strip.
Gantz, who had been serving as a minister without portfolio in the war cabinet, announced his resignation a week ago, on Sunday.
His resignation followed weeks of disagreements with Netanyahu regarding the strategy and future governance of the Gaza Strip.
Gantz's departure from the war cabinet prompted him to call for new elections. Despite Gantz's withdrawal, Netanyahu still maintains a majority in parliament with his right-wing coalition.
