The Netflix reality show ‘Squid Game: The Challenge,’ based on the hit South Korean series ‘Squid Game,’ is facing potential legal issues as two participants have threatened to sue the streaming giant and production company Studio Lambert.
This dispute arises from physical injuries the participants claim to have sustained during the filming of the show’s opening competition, ‘Red Light, Green Light.’
According to Deadline, the British law firm Express Solicitors is representing two anonymous individuals who allege they suffered from hypothermia and nerve damage due to the cold conditions in a UK hangar where the show was being filmed.
The participants were reportedly required to remain motionless for extended periods to stay in the competition, which led to their injuries.
The CEO of Express Solicitors commented on the situation to Deadline, stating, “Participants thought they were entering something fun, and the injured did not expect to suffer as they did. Now they are left with injuries from having to spend time trapped in painful positions in cold temperatures.”
However, a spokesperson for ‘Squid Game: The Challenge’ responded to these claims by saying, “No lawsuit has been filed by any of the ‘Squid Game’ participants. We take the health of our participants extremely seriously.”
