Russian forces resumed targeting the Nikopol district in Ukraine’s Dnipropetrovsk region this morning.

After a rare quiet night across the Dnipropetrovsk region, Russian troops launched an attack on the Nikopol district early this morning, continuing the cycle of violence that has plagued the area.

Serhiy Lysak, head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration, reported the incident via Telegram.

The Russian forces used kamikaze drones to strike the district center multiple times, while also shelling the Marganets community with artillery. Initial reports indicate that two people were injured in the attacks. The assault caused significant damage to a four-story building, a shop, a minibus, and a car.

“The extent of the damage caused by the Russian military is still being assessed,” Lysak noted in his post. Local authorities are working to gather more details on the impact of the morning’s bombardment.

Recent Escalations in Nikopol

This morning’s attack follows a particularly violent day on May 23, when Russian troops shelled the Nikopol district more than 15 times. That barrage damaged a fire department, a dormitory, and an agricultural company, illustrating the persistent threat and disruption faced by the region.
