On September 15, Ukraine firmly dismissed speculation about freezing the ongoing war with Russia, countering claims made by the German tabloid Bild.

Presidential adviser Dmytro Lytvyn took to Facebook to debunk the rumors, stating that Ukraine has no intention of agreeing to a ceasefire or granting concessions to Russia.

“Bild has spread false information,” Lytvyn wrote. “No one involved in the development of Ukraine’s Victory Plan has spoken with Bild. There will be no ‘Minsk-3’ or any other agreement that concedes to Russia.”

He reiterated that Ukraine strongly opposes any freeze of the war and continues to communicate this stance at all levels of government.

Lytvyn stressed the importance of US support for Ukraine’s Victory Plan, which will be presented primarily to Washington. According to him, this plan is key for the successful implementation of Ukraine's strategy to end the war through military victory rather than through a ceasefire or negotiations that would favor Russia.

Ukraine's Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) also responded to the rumors, denying any intention to freeze the conflict.

A spokesperson for the ministry clarified that Ukraine’s strategy is focused on strengthening the country, not making concessions.

“Ukraine has no plans to agree to any ‘freeze’ of the war,” the spokesperson said, refuting the Bild report. The ministry emphasized that President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s plan will prioritize enhancing Ukraine’s military capabilities with ongoing support from the US, not weakening them.

False Reports of Ceasefire Talks

Bild had reported that President Zelenskyy might express a willingness for a localized ceasefire during his upcoming US visit, claiming that he would discuss this with President Joe Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris, and former President Donald Trump.

These claims have been dismissed as baseless by both the Ukrainian government and President Zelenskyy’s advisers.

Earlier, at the 20th annual Yalta European Strategy (YES) meeting in Kyiv on September 13, Zelenskyy outlined key aspects of his plan to end the war with Russia. He stated that US support remains vital for Ukraine’s strategy, focusing on a strong military push to regain control of its territory.

According to United24 Media, Ukraine remains resolute in its refusal to accept any ceasefire or agreement that would freeze the current conflict.
