North Korea has launched a ballistic missile of an unknown type towards the Sea of Japan, further escalating regional tensions. This development was reported by Yonhap, citing the South Korean Joint Chiefs of Staff.

Japan Confirms

The Ministry of Defense of Japan confirmed, as reported by Japanese media, that North Korea launched a ballistic missile that landed in the Sea of Japan, outside Japan's exclusive economic zone.

Previously, on April 2, North Korea announced the successful test of a new medium-range ballistic missile equipped with a hypersonic warhead.
