Kim Yo Jong, the sister of North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, condemned the United States' decision to provide $8 billion in military assistance to Ukraine, labeling it an "incredible mistake."

New Military Package

According to Kim, this action puts the U.S. in a perilous position against Russia, a recognized nuclear superpower.

This announcement came during Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s visit to Washington, where President Joe Biden outlined the new military aid package aimed at strengthening Ukraine's defense capabilities, according to Digi24.

The package reportedly includes long-range weapons designed to enhance Ukraine's ability to strike Russian targets from a greater distance.

Dont Underestimate Russia

Kim voiced her concerns through North Korea's state news agency, KCNA, warning that the U.S. is escalating the conflict in Ukraine and could potentially lead Europe to the brink of nuclear war.

“The United States and the West should not ignore or underestimate Russia's severe warning,” she stated, questioning whether they can handle the repercussions of what she termed a reckless game with fire against a nuclear superpower.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has similarly warned that any missile attacks against Russia could lead to the use of nuclear weapons, framing any such actions as a joint attack supported by a nuclear power. Kim labeled the U.S. support for Zelensky’s military endeavors as a "dangerous and irresponsible gamble."

Over the past year, North Korea and Russia have bolstered their relationship, meeting twice to solidify a “global strategic partnership” that includes mutual defense commitments. The U.S. has accused North Korea of supplying Russia with arms, a claim that both nations deny.
