Trending Now

As the U.S. election day approaches, the two main contenders continue to dominate the front pages. Recently, concerns about President Joe Biden's health have been making headlines.

David Axelrod, a former chief adviser to President Barack Obama, has added to the scrutiny by publicly criticizing Biden.

Speaking on CNN, Axelrod accused Biden of not recognizing the precariousness of his position in the race against Donald Trump.

Axelrod suggested that Biden is unfazed by poor poll results due to his past experiences with suffering and failure, as reported by Frankfurter Rundschau.

Despite the criticism, Biden remains resolute.

In an interview with ABC, he stated that only “Almighty God” could stop him from continuing his campaign, demonstrating his determination despite his age and criticism within the Democratic Party.

Internally, some Democrats have suggested distancing themselves from Biden during the campaign if necessary.

Trump's Preparations

Meanwhile, Trump is preparing for a potential return to power.

The right-wing Heritage Foundation has created a comprehensive plan called “Project 2025,” aiming to expand executive power under Trump and reshape US society according to conservative and nationalist principles.

Harvard political scientists Steven Levitsky and Daniel Ziblatt, in their book “Tyranny of the Minority,” warn that Trump’s project could allow a minority to control the majority without oversight.

They stress that even if Biden or another candidate wins, US democracy is still at risk.
