Prince William gives ‘Politician’s Answer’ to young boy’s inquiry

During a recent visit to Scotland, Prince William was approached by a group of children with a series of questions. Among the innocent inquiries was one that stood out: “Is it tricky being a prince?”

The Prince of Wales, known for his tact and public composure, offered a response that was diplomatically evasive, a move often seen in the political arena where direct answers are sometimes sidestepped.

Instead of addressing the complexities of royal life, Prince William deflected the question back to his experience as a pilot, saying, “It’s tricky being a pilot…how’s that for an answer?”

This maneuver, reminiscent of a seasoned politician, allowed him to avoid delving into the personal challenges of his royal duties.

His reply was a classic example of answering a question with another topic, a tactic used to steer away from potentially sensitive subjects.

The reason why Prince William did not answer the boy’s question is not known. Whether it was sensitive to the prince, or whether he feared how it might be angled in the media if he answered it sincerely.
