Vladimir Putin claims that Russia is making progress in Ukraine.

The intense battles in Ukraine continue, and recently Vladimir Putin has been active in commenting on the war.

On Tuesday evening, he asserted that the Russian forces are making progress, and that Russia currently has the initiative.

At the same time, he turns to the West and comments on the support for Ukraine.

This is reported by AFP according to Euronews.

"Has Been Crushed"

The Russian dictator emphasizes that he is satisfied with the movements and positions of the troops.

"Our forces have the initiative," he says, according to AFP.

"All attempts by the West to cause us a military defeat have been crushed by the courage and strength of our soldiers and the potential of our military industry."

Will Not Stop

Putin praises the Russian forces but admits that there is a need to improve military communication and increase the supply of ammunition and drones.

He also stresses that Russia has no plans whatsoever to leave Ukraine.

"The West is not abandoning its strategy to contain Russia and its aggressive goals in Ukraine. Well, we will not abandon the objectives of the special military operation either," he says.

Using Gas

Russia continues to direct brutal attacks against eastern and southern Ukraine.

Ukrainian soldiers testify that the Russian forces are using gas, among other things.

"First, I saw smoke," says a soldier to CNN.

"We ran out of the trench, and suddenly the gas started burning. The trench was in flames. This gas burns, blinds you, you can't breathe, it goes down your throat immediately. We didn't even have a second."

Possible Mobilization

During the day, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyj has spoken about the situation.

He has commented on demands for a possible mobilization that Ukraine may be forced to undertake to meet the Russian forces.
