An Unprecedented Welcome
Putin’s visit to Beijing, as reported by Chinese media outlet Baijiahao, saw an extraordinary level of pomp and ceremony.
The Russian president and his delegation were greeted at a Beijing airport with lavish red carpet treatment, flanked by an honor guard composed of members from all three branches of the Chinese military.
The presence of State Council member Chen Yiqin, who welcomed the delegation, added a notable element to the occasion. It's rare for female officials in China to greet foreign dignitaries, making this event extra special.
The elaborate reception also featured a military band that played the Russian national anthem, accompanied by a salute in honor of the Russian guests. Adding a personal touch to the ceremony, the band performed "Moscow Nights," a well-known Russian song.
Baijiahao observers noted that such a grand reception for a foreign delegation is unprecedented in their experience.
