‘Rocky’ Legend passes away at 83.
The American actor and former boxer Burt Young, best known for his role as Paulie in the “Rocky” series, has passed away at the age of 83.
The news was confirmed by his daughter, Anne Morea Steingieser.
Young had a diverse career, appearing in gangster films like “Once Upon a Time in America” and “Chinatown,” but it was his role as Sylvester Stallone’s friend Paulie that earned him an Oscar nomination.
Before his Hollywood career, Young was a professional boxer and Marine.
Sylvester Stallone paid tribute to his late co-star on Instagram, stating,
“To my dear friend, Burt Young. You were an amazing man and artist, and both I and the world will miss you very much. RIP.”

The New York Times reported that Young passed away on October 8th. The cause of death has not been disclosed.
