On November 8, Russia launched a guided aerial bomb attack on Kharkiv, hitting the Shevchenkivskyi and Saltivskyi districts and causing extensive damage.

According to Mayor Ihor Terekhov on Telegram, a 12-story residential building sustained severe damage, with several lower floors collapsing.

At least 25 people were injured, including a child, and 30 residents, among them 4 children, were evacuated.

The blast caused further destruction to nearby buildings, shops, and vehicles, and sparked a 20-square-meter fire that was quickly extinguished by emergency teams. Another bomb struck a children’s store in the city center, causing extensive damage to the building and surrounding areas. Though the metro station beneath the blast site remained structurally intact, all exits were damaged, with two significantly affected.

A third bomb struck near the Sukhoi Fountain in a square between university buildings, partially damaging recently installed New Year’s decorations near the fountain.
