Russian Army Loses 1,680 Soldiers in a Single Day in Ukraine

The Russian military suffered another major loss in Ukraine.

The Armed Forces of Ukraine reported on October 28, 2024, that Russian combat losses in Ukraine have reached approximately 690,720 soldiers since the invasion began in February 2022, with 1,680 Russian soldiers killed in the past 24 hours alone.

This update was shared on Facebook by the Ukrainian General Staff and reported by Ukrinform.

In addition to personnel losses, Ukrainian Defense Forces reported that they have destroyed significant Russian military equipment over the course of the conflict.

The cumulative tally includes:

  • 9,120 tanks (+7 in the past day)

  • 18,395 armored fighting vehicles (+40)

  • 19,872 artillery systems (+51)

  • 1,240 anti-aircraft missiles

  • 984 air defense systems

  • 369 aircraft and 329 helicopters

  • 17,867 operational-tactical UAVs (+68)

  • 2,625 cruise missiles

  • 28 ships/boats and 1 submarine

  • 27,660 vehicles and tank trucks (+100)

  • 3,556 pieces of special equipment (+14)

The Ukrainian forces also reported a recent success by the 100th Separate Mechanized Brigade, which destroyed two Russian 2C7 "Pion" self-propelled guns located deep in Russian-held territory.

The strike was carried out with precision sniper drops from a drone-bomber.

According to the Ukrainian General Staff, these figures are still being verified.
