The Russian Ministry of Defense announced that a crew from the Fagot anti-tank missile system of the West group of troops successfully destroyed an American M113 armored personnel carrier (APC) in the Svatovo direction.
The operation also targeted a Ukrainian Armed Forces stronghold.
Details of the Operation
According to a report by TASS, the mission was executed by the motorized rifle brigade of the West group of troops.
Military reconnaissance officers initially detected the targets and reported them to the Fagot ATGM crew.
Using video monitoring equipment and drones, they observed Ukrainian Armed Forces equipment moving towards the front line, attempting to maneuver military personnel to Russian positions.
The scouts transmitted the coordinates to the control point, and the mission details were relayed to the Fagot crew.
The anti-tank team then relocated to the designated area and engaged the targets, achieving direct hits and destroying the equipment.
This action prevented the Ukrainian forces from deploying troops to the front.
Strategic Impact
"The opponents were struck by a direct hit, the equipment was destroyed, and the enemy no longer had means of deploying troops. The team secured their position, gaining control over the surrounding forest belts, which enabled further advances," stated Mamura, the crew commander, in a video released by the Russian Ministry of Defense.
This operation has allowed Russian forces to gain control over strategic areas, facilitating further advances in the region.
