A massive fire at an oil depot in Feodosia, Crimea, continues to burn for a third consecutive day after a Ukrainian strike on October 7.

New footage reveals ongoing flames and thick smoke visible from afar, with locals reporting no reduction in the intensity of the fire.

The city is blanketed with a strong smell of burning, and officials indicate that the fire will likely continue until the fuel in the tanks has completely burned out.

This was reported by United24 Media.

Fuel Crisis Worsens in Crimea

Crimea has already been grappling with fuel shortages for the past year, with reserves barely covering two weeks of demand, according to Denys Chystikov, Deputy Permanent Representative of the President of Ukraine in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea.

The destruction of the Feodosia oil depot, a critical facility supplying fuel across the occupied peninsula, is expected to deepen the crisis.

Chystikov explained that the loss of fuel stockpiles is not only a blow to civilians but also to Russian military logistics in Crimea.

"The destruction of these reserves is crucial for disrupting Russian military infrastructure," he stated.

Despite the worsening situation, Chystikov noted that there has not been a spike in fuel prices in Crimea, mainly because they are already the highest compared to other regions of Russia due to delivery risks.

However, he warned that the real issue will be fuel availability, with possible limitations on sales.

"There is already a growing panic among locals about potential fuel shortages in the near future," he added.

Strategic Strikes by Ukrainian Forces

The fire in Feodosia is part of a broader strategy by Ukrainian forces, who have been successfully targeting key military infrastructure in Russian-occupied territories, including fuel depots and airbases.

These strikes aim to weaken Russian logistical capabilities, impacting both military and civilian operations in Crimea.

In a separate operation on the night of August 8-9, Ukrainian special forces destroyed a Russian high-speed patrol boat near Chornomorske using a MAGURA V5 marine drone, further disrupting Russian military activity in the region.
