Russian disinformation efforts have taken a new turn.

According to United24 Media, Russia has reportedly distributed a fake video claiming that Ukraine plans to recruit Polish soldiers into its Territorial Defense Forces (TDF) and Security Service (SS) by December 2024.

The video, falsely attributed to United24 Media, Ukraine's official fundraising platform, has been debunked by Ukrainian authorities.

The Center for Countering Disinformation (CCD), part of Ukraine’s National Security and Defense Council, reported the spread of the misleading video.

"After verifying with United24, we confirmed that the platform had no involvement in creating or distributing such a video, and the claims about recruiting Polish soldiers are entirely false," the CCD clarified.

A Growing Wave of Propaganda

According to the CCD, the primary goal of this fabricated video is to create tension between Ukrainians and Poles and weaken the cooperation between Ukraine and its allies.

This recent disinformation effort is part of a broader Russian campaign designed to sow division and disrupt Ukraine’s mobilization efforts.

Russian propaganda has recently intensified, with CCD reporting that manipulative narratives are flooding social media platforms. These narratives often distort facts, such as presenting checks conducted by TDF personnel as "lawlessness," in an attempt to stir up public unrest.

The use of fake videos and manipulated narratives is not new.

Back in May, it was reported that Russia had been preparing a series of falsified videos aimed at discrediting Ukrainian soldiers, particularly those involved in recruitment centers.
