Military sailors in Ukraine safely defused a sea mine discovered on the Black Sea coast in the Odesa region. The Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported this operation on their Facebook page.
On June 13, the Ukrainian Defense Forces found a dangerous mine-like object on the coast in Odesa.
Naval experts confirmed it was indeed an active sea mine.
"After identification by the Navy of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the dangerous ordnance was defused by means of a controlled detonation, following all necessary safety measures," a statement from the Armed Forces read.
The Navy stressed that people should not approach, touch, or attempt to move any suspicious explosive objects. The public is advised to immediately notify relevant services upon discovering such objects.
The Navy also reminded everyone that the ban on staying in unverified coastal areas is still in effect to ensure public safety.
