On October 3, three Shahed drones reportedly entered Belarusian airspace while Belarusian dictator Alexander Lukashenko was flying over the country in a helicopter, according to the monitoring group Belaruski Hajun.
The drones, which originated from Ukraine’s Chernihiv Oblast, were spotted heading toward Gomel Oblast in Belarus.
Two of them flew over Novaya Guta en route to Gomel, while the third passed over Loyew, also in the Gomel region.
At the time, Lukashenko’s helicopter was said to be flying south from his residence in Ozerny.
The Kyiv Independent could not verify the monitoring group’s claims.
Earlier that day, Ukrainian authorities issued an air-raid alert in northern regions due to the threat of Russian Shahed drone attacks.
This incident follows a similar one in early September when Belarusian air defense forces shot down Shahed drones over their airspace for the first time on September 5.
