An exclusive investigation has unveiled a concerning loophole in the current sanction regime against Russia, revealing that European components are still making their way into the production of Kinzhal missiles.

The Kinzhal, a supersonic missile, is one of the most formidable weapons in Russia’s arsenal, and its production has been ramped up amidst the ongoing war with Ukraine. This has been investegated by the english-russian newspaper The Insider.

Sergey Pitikov, head of the Mechanical Engineering Design Bureau responsible for the Kinzhal, earns over 30 million rubles annually while his family resides comfortably in Sweden.

Despite the apparent conflict, his position remains secure.

Shockingly, European components continue to fuel the production of these lethal weapons.

ETS Electronics LLC, a Moscow-based firm established in 2021, has been identified as a key player in importing vital chips from American manufacturers through Chinese intermediaries, all while avoiding EU sanctions.

This revelation calls into question the effectiveness of the Western sanctions and underscores the urgent need for a thorough review and strengthening of the current measures to ensure they truly disrupt the production of weapons contributing to the conflict.
