Steve Harwell, the lead singer of the renowned rock band Smash Mouth, is facing the final chapter of his life after battling medical complications for years. His family and close friends have gathered around him to say their goodbyes.

Harwell has had a lifelong battle with alcohol abuse, and he is now in the terminal stage of liver failure. Until recently, he was undergoing treatment in a hospital but has now been moved to hospice care at home.

His manager predicts that he likely has only about a week left to live.

The news comes nearly two years after a concerning incident where Harwell appeared extremely disoriented during a live performance.

He has also previously been diagnosed with conditions such as cardiomyopathy, heart failure, and Wernicke's encephalopathy. These health challenges, coupled with his substance abuse, have contributed to his deteriorating condition.

This is deeply saddening news for everyone who has followed Harwell and Smash Mouth, who are responsible for some of the biggest pop culture hits of the early 2000s, including "All Star" and "I'm a Believer," which also gained fame through the movie "Shrek." Steve Harwell is only 56 years old.

This grim development marks a sorrowful time in the music world, leaving fans and music lovers in a state of shock and grief.
