Totally Cool, Inc., based in Owings Mills, Maryland, has announced a nationwide recall of multiple brands of ice cream products due to potential contamination with Listeria monocytogenes.
This bacterium can cause severe and sometimes fatal infections, particularly in young children, the elderly, and individuals with weakened immune systems.
While healthy individuals may experience only short-term symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain, and diarrhea,
Listeria infection poses significant risks to pregnant women, including miscarriages and stillbirths.
Distribution and Identification of Recalled Products
The affected ice cream products were distributed nationwide and were available in retail locations as well as through direct delivery.
Consumers can identify the recalled products by comparing the date and plant information on the product packaging.

As of now, no illnesses have been reported in connection with the recalled products.

In response to the findings from FDA sampling, Totally Cool, Inc. has ceased production and distribution of the affected ice cream products.
