Military ties between Russia and North Korea pose risks to both the Korean Peninsula and Europe, warns South Korean President

Military cooperation between Russia and North Korea is a serious threat to peace and security not only on the Korean Peninsula but also in Europe, according to South Korean President Yoon Seok-yeol.

He made this statement in a written comment to Reuters, as reported by Ukrinform.

A Global Security Challenge

"Military cooperation between Russia and North Korea poses an obvious threat and a serious challenge to peace and security on the Korean Peninsula and to Europe," Yoon Seok-yeol stated.

He emphasized that Russia's desire to build future ties with South Korea will heavily influence Seoul's decisions moving forward.

President Yoon also noted that South Korea's decision to support Ukraine with weapons will depend on developments in the military agreement between Moscow and Pyongyang.

Upcoming NATO Summit

At the upcoming NATO summit in Washington, President Yoon intends to raise awareness about the growing military cooperation between North Korea and Russia.

According to Ukrinform's report, the president plans to discuss potential ways for South Korea to collaborate more closely with NATO in response to these developments.
