Sweden and the United States have announced a significant new partnership aimed at advancing nuclear power technology.

According to SVT the agreement, signed on Wednesday in Washington, D.C., between Swedish Minister for Energy and Business, Ebba Busch, and U.S. Secretary of Energy, Jennifer Granholm, marks a pivotal step in both countries' efforts to enhance their nuclear capabilities.
The deal outlines a comprehensive bilateral collaboration focusing on several key areas, including research and innovation, financing, and the development of advanced nuclear fuels.

Add More Nuclear Reactors
The partnership follows a productive meeting last fall between Busch and Granholm, which laid the groundwork for the formal agreement. Currently, Sweden operates six nuclear reactors and aims to add two more by 2035, with plans for a "massive" expansion by 2045.
