A suspected perpetrator of a shooting in Prague has been 'eliminated', according to Czech police as reported by Reuters.
15 people and the suspected perpetrator, a 24-year-old man, have been killed following a shooting at a university in Prague. 24 are reported injured. This was announced by Prague Police at a press conference.
The shooting took place at a university located at Jan Palach Square in central Prague.
According to the police, the suspected perpetrator's father was also found dead in his home in a smaller town 21 kilometers outside Prague.
Perpetrator 'Eliminated'
Shortly before 4 PM, the suspected perpetrator was 'eliminated'.
"The shooter has been eliminated!!! The entire building is currently being evacuated, and there are multiple dead and dozens injured," wrote Czech police on X.
The evacuation of students at the school continues at this moment, as they had barricaded themselves and hidden from the perpetrator.
The police report that the suspected perpetrator himself was a student at the school.
Stay Away
Several foreign ministries have warned citizens in Prague to stay away from the area.
