The top executive of Bet365, Denise Coates, earned nearly 300 million pounds last year, equivalent to $318 million in salary and dividends from the British gambling conglomerate, cementing her position as one of the world's best-paid leaders. This translates to a daily salary of approximately 873,000 dollars.

For her efforts, Coates was paid about 221 million pounds in the fiscal year and also received at least 50 million pounds in dividends due to her ownership stake in the company. Nevertheless, the year witnessed a pre-tax loss of 72.6 million pounds.
The loss was largely due to the company's expansion into new regions such as North America, where more than 20 states have now legalized online betting.
Bet365 is also the majority owner of the football club Stoke City, which reported a loss of 12.4 million pounds, an improvement compared to the loss of 26.3 million pounds the year before.
The announcement from the gambling conglomerate on Monday also showed an increase in revenue to 3.4 billion pounds in the fiscal year compared to 2.9 billion pounds in the same period the year before.
The growth reflects expansion into new markets but also led to 'significant increases in costs,' according to the company.
The betting director's high salary makes her one of the UK's largest taxpayers. Bet365 also donated 100 million pounds to the Denise Coates Foundation, a registered charity.
