Imagine Elon Musk in the White House.

Former President Donald Trump isn’t shy about who he’d want by his side if he’s back in the Oval Office — and billionaire Elon Musk is at the top of his list.

In a recent interview reported by Reuters, Trump revealed he’d love to bring the Tesla and SpaceX CEO into his administration, calling Musk a "brilliant guy" and hinting at a potential cabinet or advisory role.

"He's a very smart guy. I certainly would, if he would do it, I certainly would," Trump said when asked if Musk would have a spot in his administration. "He's a brilliant guy."

While Musk hasn’t directly responded to Trump’s proposal, he did share a playful post on social media platform X (formerly Twitter).

The post features an AI-generated image of himself at a podium labeled "D.O.G.E. Department of Government Efficiency" — a playful nod to Dogecoin, the meme cryptocurrency that Musk has famously endorsed.

His caption? "I am willing to serve."

The buzz around Musk potentially joining a second Trump administration has been swirling for months.

Back in May, The Wall Street Journal reported that Musk had discussed a possible role with Trump.

Musk, however, refuted this, stating on X that "there have not been any discussions of a role for me in a potential Trump Presidency."

But now, it seems Musk might be warming up to the idea.

During a recent livestream with Trump, Musk hinted at his interest in helping streamline government operations.

"I think it would be great to just have a government efficiency commission that takes a look at these things and just ensures that the taxpayers' hard-earned money is spent in a good way, and I'd be happy to help out on such a commission," Musk said.

Trump’s response? "I'd love it," he said.

And Musk isn’t the only big name Trump’s been eyeing.

In July, he floated the idea of JPMorgan CEO Jamie Dimon as his potential treasury secretary, although he later walked that back, claiming he "never discussed, or thought of" having Dimon in the role.

As the 2024 race heats up, Trump’s willingness to bring high-profile figures like Musk into his fold is sure to keep everyone guessing—and talking.
