On March 25, U.S. President Donald Trump announced that his administration is evaluating the conditions set forth by the Kremlin for the implementation of a proposed Black Sea ceasefire agreement.
“We’re thinking about all of them right now. There are five or six conditions. We are looking at all of them,” Trump stated during a White House press briefing.
Earlier that day, the White House confirmed that Ukraine and Russia had agreed in principle to cease hostilities in the Black Sea region.
However, shortly after, the Kremlin clarified that the agreement would be contingent on the lifting of sanctions imposed on Russian agribusinesses and banks.
The situation remains under review as U.S. officials weigh the implications of meeting Russia’s conditions.
