In light of escalating tensions in Lebanon, the U.S. Embassy in Beirut has issued a stern advisory for all American citizens to depart the country as soon as possible.

Airlines Suspended Flights

The advisory, released on August 3rd, comes amid mounting fears of a potential large-scale conflict between Israel and the Lebanese militant group Hezbollah.

According to the embassy, several airlines have suspended or canceled flights from Beirut’s Rafic Hariri International Airport. Despite these disruptions, commercial flight options remain available. The embassy is urging Americans to secure any available tickets, even if it means taking a flight that does not depart immediately or does not align with their preferred route.

Embassy Offers Assistance

For those who lack the funds for immediate repatriation, the embassy offers assistance. However, it also emphasizes that military evacuation of civilians from abroad is rare and advises that Americans should not rely on the U.S. government for departure or evacuation support in times of crisis. Citizens may need to make arrangements for emergency situations and extended local accommodation.

The advisory reflects heightened concerns about regional instability, with fears that the situation could escalate into a broader conflict involving Hezbollah and Israel. A
