The UK has expanded its sanctions against Russia by adding 30 oil tankers to its list, according to updated information released by the British government.
Russian Interfax reports that the sanctions were imposed on vessels transporting Russian oil or petroleum products to third countries.
The majority of the tankers under these new restrictions sail under the Russian flag, including vessels such as Anatoly Kolodkin, Antarktika, Belgorod, Bratsk, Georgy Maslov, Kemerovo, Kolomna, Krasnoyarsk, and Viktor Bakaev.
Additionally, eight ships registered in Panama – Agnes, Cepheus, Emily S, Feng Shou, Ksena, Neomi, Suleyman, and Thea – have also been sanctioned.
Five tankers flagged in Gabon (Ariadne, Atalanta, Attica, Guru, and Nanda Devi), as well as vessels from Sierra Leone (Mikati), Antigua and Barbuda (Chilli and Python), Comoros (Daksha), Barbados (Delvina and Kelly Grace), Guinea (Valour), and Liberia (Hs Everett), are now included in the restrictions.
