Ukraine will have one of the most powerful military forces in Europe once it joins NATO, according to Latvian Foreign Minister Baiba Braze.

She made the statement during a discussion at the Warsaw Security Forum on October 1.

Braze said that after joining NATO, Ukraine's military will become the second-strongest in Europe, following the United States and Turkey. She praised Ukraine's experience in battle and its strong political commitment.

Braze added that Ukraine’s membership in NATO and the EU would make Europe more secure.

“Ukraine’s military experience and its resources will be a big help to Europe’s security and prosperity,” she stated, according to a press release.

Ukraine has earned recognition for its resilience during the conflict with Russia, making it a valuable potential ally for NATO.

Braze’s comments come after NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte said that Ukraine rightfully belongs in NATO.
