In a significant offensive during the early hours of Sunday, Ukraine targeted a Russian naval port on the Crimean Peninsula.

The Ukrainian military confirmed striking two Russian warships, a communication unit, and naval infrastructure in the port city of Sevastopol on Crimea. This action was part of a larger Ukrainian assault on Crimea that took place overnight into Sunday.

This information was disclosed in a statement by the Ukrainian military, as reported by Reuters news agency.

A Russian official acknowledged that the port was the focus of an extensive Ukrainian attack during the night. He added that the Russian air defense managed to intercept more than ten missiles associated with the attack.

As of Sunday morning, the extent of damage to the impacted units remains unclear.
