Ukraine has announced new sanctions against 90 individuals and 57 companies, as part of its ongoing efforts to put pressure on Russia and those supporting its war effort.

President Volodymyr Zelensky enacted the sanctions through two presidential decrees, No. 697/2024 and No. 698/2024.

These have been published on the official website of the head of state, Ukrinform reported.

Sanctions Details

The sanctions were introduced following a decision by Ukraine’s National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) and will last for ten years. The measures target citizens from both Ukraine and Russia, as well as legal entities registered in Cyprus.

Additionally, 54 Russian companies and three Chinese companies have been included in the sanctions list-

The four legal entities registered in Cyprus have also been hit by these sanctions.

These new restrictions come alongside other international sanctions targeting Russia. Notably, on October 8, the UK imposed sanctions on Russia’s Radiological Chemical and Biological Defense (CBR) troops and their commander.
