On July 15, the Kropyvnytskyi Court of Appeal in the Kirovohrad region of Ukraine ordered the release of Colonel Roman Chervinsky on bail.

Chervinsky, accused of abuse of office, will be released once the bail amount of nine million hryvnia (approximately $219,000) is posted.

This was reported by the law firm Katerynchuk, Moor, and Partners on Facebook.

Bail and Current Status

"Bail has been set, but has not yet been posted. Roman has not been released yet. We will report all the details. Thank you to everyone for your support," Chervinsky's support group stated on Telegram.

Lawyer Viktor Vasilyuk, representing Chervinsky, mentioned that the defense is working to raise the bail money. Until then, Chervinsky will remain in custody.

Allegations and Charges

Chervinsky is accused of abuse of office.

The prosecution claims he disclosed the coordinates of an airfield in the Kirovohrad region in an attempt to lure a Russian pilot to defect to the Ukrainian side. This led to an attack on the airfield, resulting in one soldier's death and injuries to 17 others.

Both Der Spiegel and The Washington Post have reported, citing sources, that Chervinsky coordinated the explosions at the Nord Stream gas pipelines. They allege he managed the logistics and led a team of six people who planted the explosives.

Through his lawyer, Chervinsky has denied any involvement in the sabotage of the gas pipelines.
