During the early hours of February 28, Defense Forces and Air Force anti-aircraft missile units secured a significant victory in the Odesa and Mykolaiv regions by successfully neutralizing all 10 'Shahed' drones launched in an assault.
According to the Air Force of the ZSU, the enemy launched the attack using S-300 anti-aircraft guided missiles from the occupied Donetsk region and dispatched 10 Shahed-type strike UAVs from Russia's Primorsko-Akhtarsk region.
The concerted efforts of the mobile fire groups and anti-aircraft missile units resulted in the complete destruction of the incoming Shahed drones in the targeted regions.
In the backdrop of this successful defense, the Defense Forces of the South had earlier reported engaging the enemy "Shaheds" during the night.
Despite the victory, the downfall of debris from one of the drones led to a fire outbreak in Odesa, which was swiftly brought under control and extinguished.
