In the latest turn of events amid the ongoing conflict between Ukraine and Russia, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine released operational data revealing significant losses inflicted on the Russian side.
As of the morning of 18th October, Ukrainian defenders reportedly destroyed 620 Russian invaders, 15 armored combat vehicles, 2 tanks, 8 artillery systems, 1 aircraft, and 6 helicopters belonging to the Russian army.
This update follows closely after the targeted strikes by the Ukrainian Armed Forces on the night of 17th October.
The strikes were focused on airfields near the occupied regions of Berdiansk and Luhansk. Initial reports from the General Staff confirmed the destruction of two helicopters on landing sites, an ammunition depot, and an artillery weapon.
Further clarifications from the Special Operations Forces indicated extensive damage to the runways of these airfields.
