Ukrainian paratroopers from the 46th Airmobile Brigade successfully repelled a massive Russian mechanized assault on September 12, destroying 15 enemy vehicles in the process.

The assault involved 46 units of Russian equipment. It was divided into four waves and began at 5:45 a.m., continuing until midday.

Destruction of Russian Vehicles

The 46th Brigade’s press service reported that the paratroopers used all available weaponry to fend off the attack, resulting in the destruction of 9 infantry fighting vehicles (IFVs), 2 tanks, 2 armored personnel carriers (APCs), and 2 motorcycles.

Additionally, 11 more IFVs were disabled by fire damage.

This level of destruction was unprecedented in the area under the brigade’s responsibility.

“We’ve never seen such a number of destroyed and damaged vehicles in one day,” the brigade commented.

Footage from the battle showed Ukrainian forces employing artillery, bomber drones, and FPV drones to successfully repel the assault.

“Those of the enemies who managed to run away in time are lucky – they will live on. But not for long, until the next hot meeting,” the paratroopers told Militarnyi.

Recent Successes

This victory follows another successful operation by the 46th Brigade on September 4, when they captured nine Russian soldiers in the Kurakhove sector.

Intelligence allowed the paratroopers to locate the enemy hideout and capture the advanced unit, adding to the exchange fund for future prisoner swaps.
