The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine issued a statement on March 3, thanking the United States, President Donald Trump, and the American people for their continued support in Ukraine’s fight for sovereignty and territorial integrity.

The statement highlights Washington’s role as a strategic ally, particularly in providing military aid that has helped Ukraine stabilize the battlefield.

Acknowledging U.S. Leadership in Global Security

“The contribution of the United States of America as Ukraine’s strategic partner has been of decisive importance among international allies in supporting our nation during the most challenging times in its history,” the Ukrainian Parliament declared.

It also recognized America’s broader role in defending freedom and democracy worldwide, adding that U.S. leadership must remain deeply connected to international security commitments and strong alliances.

Support for Trump’s Peace Initiatives

While reaffirming Ukraine’s commitment to peace, the Verkhovna Rada expressed confidence in Trump’s personal role in brokering an agreement that could bring an end to hostilities.

“The Ukrainian people desire peace more than anyone else in the world,” the statement read. “We welcome President Trump’s initiatives aimed at launching negotiations and securing lasting stability in the region.”

The acknowledgment comes amid Trump’s shifting stance on Ukraine, which has raised concerns in Europe. In recent weeks, the U.S. president has pressured Kyiv to engage in negotiations with Moscow while holding off on additional military aid.

Strengthening Economic and Resource Partnerships

The Ukrainian Parliament also underscored the importance of expanding U.S.-Ukraine economic cooperation, particularly in critical mineral resources—a topic at the center of recent high-stakes negotiations between Kyiv and Washington.

“We are convinced that Ukraine’s security and stable development are ensured by the unwavering support of the United States,” the statement continued, reinforcing the belief that a strong U.S.-Ukraine partnership benefits both nations.

The Verkhovna Rada concluded its statement with a bold reaffirmation of Ukraine’s independence and commitment to resisting Russian aggression.

“Together, we are stronger!” the Parliament declared.
