Russia has dispatched Major General Mevlyutov, Deputy Commander for Resource Support of the Leningrad Military District, to the Kursk region following grievances from North Korean soldiers about insufficient food rations.
Addressing Discontent
According to Ukrainian intelligence (HUR), dissatisfaction has been brewing among North Korean troops stationed in the area, prompting swift action from Russian military leadership.
“To resolve the issue, General Mevlyutov ordered food rations from Russia's 11th Separate Air Assault Brigade to be distributed among the North Korean soldiers,” HUR reported on Telegram.
HUR revealed that soldiers from North Korea’s 92nd and 94th Special Forces Brigades have been integrated into Russian army units operating in the Kursk region.
These include:
22nd Motorized Rifle Regiment
810th Separate Marine Brigade
11th Separate Air Assault Brigade
Artillery and Missile Transfers
Ukrainian intelligence also reported significant military transfers from North Korea to Russia. Over 100 North Korean artillery systems, including M-1989 170mm self-propelled guns and M-1991 240mm multiple launch rocket systems, have been delivered.
Additionally, KN-23/24 short-range ballistic missiles were provided to support Russia’s war effort.
