Victoria Spartz has stunned many with her latest remarks.

In a recent interview with The Telegraph, US Congresswoman Victoria Spartz said Ukraine should think about giving up some land to Russia to help end the war.

Spartz, who was born in Ukraine’s Chernihiv region, also said Ukrainians should vote against President Volodymyr Zelensky in the next election.

“I don’t understand how Ukraine can demand to keep the land. It would be a different matter if they were winning,” Spartz said, warning that Ukraine risks “losing the rest of the country” if it does not seek a change in both leadership and strategy.

A Shift in Position

Spartz, once an outspoken supporter of Ukraine and a fierce critic of Vladimir Putin, has taken a sharp turn in recent months.

In 2022, she called Russia’s full-scale invasion “genocide” and condemned the Kremlin for war crimes.

Now, she places the blame for the ongoing war on President Joe Biden and accuses Zelensky’s government of corruption and mismanagement.

“Wars must be won quickly,” she said. “Their prolongation rarely ends well for democracies.” Spartz added that a change in leadership is now necessary to achieve “sustainable peace.”

Backing Trump and Dialogue With Putin

Spartz voiced support for Donald Trump and his recent efforts to establish dialogue with Russian President Vladimir Putin, saying Trump “inherited” the war and now has to resolve it.

She contrasted this with what she called Biden’s failed policies, accusing the current administration of fueling a protracted crisis.

This is not the first time Spartz has clashed with the Ukrainian leadership.

In 2024, she voted against giving Ukraine $61 billion in US aid.

When asked why, she said her main job is to “protect America’s interests.”

A Direct Attack on Zelensky

Now Spartz is going further. She says Zelensky must not be re-elected.

“If they elect Zelensky again, they will lose the rest of the country,” she said. She believes a new leader is needed to make peace possible.

Spartz has previously accused Zelensky of damaging Ukraine’s relationship with the US.

After a reported confrontation between Trump and Zelensky in the Oval Office, she publicly sided with Trump and criticized the Ukrainian president for “insulting the American president” and “doing a disservice to the Ukrainian people.”
