In the quiet of the night on April 9, the skies over the Voronezh region in Russia were disrupted by an audacious drone attack targeting the Borysoglib educational aviation center.
The incident was confirmed by the region's Governor Oleksandr Gusev and circulated across Russian Telegram channels.
A Sudden Aerial Offensive
According to Governor Gusev, one of the unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) was "detected and destroyed" by the air defense forces, employing both conventional and electronic warfare tactics within the territorial confines of the Voronezh region.
The preliminary reports noted that there were no casualties, with the on-the-ground impact still under assessment.
A Dual-Drone Strategy
The Chkalov Aviation Training Center, located in Borysoglibsk, became the focal point of the night's activities as two drones made their presence known in a calculated sequence of attacks.
Video evidence shared across Telegram channels depicts the aggressive engagement, with the first drone colliding against the building's facade near the 4th floor at approximately 3 a.m. A second UAV followed suit, targeting the same vicinity an hour later, resulting in explosions as reported by sources like "Baza" and Astra.
