Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has accused China of actively helping Russia prolong the ongoing war in Ukraine.

Speaking in Brussels on October 17, Zelenskyy revealed that Ukraine has "clear intelligence data" indicating China’s involvement in supporting Russia's war efforts.

“We are receiving signals that China is actively helping Russia drag out this war,” Zelenskyy said, as reported by the Kyiv Independent. He added that Moscow is also receiving backing from Iran and North Korea, including arms and personnel.

Zelenskyy addressed the European Council meeting in Brussels, where he also unveiled a five-point "victory plan" aimed at securing peace and ending Russia's aggression.

One of the main points in Zelenskyy’s plan involves deploying a “non-nuclear deterrence package” in Ukraine, supported by countries like the US, UK, France, Germany, and Italy.

Zelenskyy explained that this would ensure peace through strength and compel Russian President Vladimir Putin to respect Ukraine's power.

“This is about peace through strength. Putin must respect our power, not cause the free world to tremble at his threats,” Zelenskyy emphasized.

The deterrence measures would only be implemented if Russia refuses to halt its aggression, making it a crucial step in Zelenskyy’s strategy to safeguard Ukraine’s future security.

NATO and Continued European Support

Zelenskyy also discussed other aspects of his victory plan, including an immediate invitation for Ukraine to join NATO, ongoing defense and economic support, and a post-war security framework.

He warned that Putin is preparing reinforcements to continue the war, and urged Europe to maintain its support for Ukraine.

Earlier, NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte acknowledged Ukraine’s victory plan and discussed the next steps for supporting Kyiv’s strategy.
