The White House released the results of a medical examination for Vice President Kamala Harris, who is campaigning for the presidency in 2024.

Suffers Seasonal Allergies

The report, authored by her physician, Dr. Joshua Simmons, outlines Harris’s health status, revealing that she suffers from seasonal allergies and hives and is also nearsighted. However, a recent check-up in April 2024, which included blood tests, did not raise any concerns.

The report highlights that all of Harris's vaccinations and preventive care recommendations are up to date, according to Ziare.

Her most recent physical exam, conducted in April, along with routine blood tests, did not indicate any issues. Harris wears contact lenses, takes a Vitamin D3 supplement, and occasionally uses allergy medications, nasal spray, and eye drops.

In Excellent Health

Dr. Simmons emphasized that Harris maintains a healthy diet, does not smoke, and consumes alcohol only occasionally and in moderation. He concluded that "Vice President Harris is in excellent health," adding that she possesses the physical and mental stability needed to successfully carry out presidential duties.

The release of this detailed medical information aims to differentiate Harris from her Republican opponent, Donald Trump, who is 78 years old. While Trump seeks to become the oldest individual ever elected to the U.S. presidency, he has disclosed relatively few details about his own medical history.

Age has been a significant concern for voters, particularly regarding President Joe Biden, who is 81 years old. Biden’s reelection bid faced scrutiny due to his age, and his exit from the race in July has provided an opportunity to draw contrasts that they had previously tried to downplay.

In November 2023, Trump shared a letter from his physician, Bruce Aronwald, stating that "Trump's overall health is excellent." The letter indicated that Trump’s physical examinations fell within normal ranges, and his cognitive tests were exceptional.
