The discussions about the health of US President Joe Biden continue.

Especially after a poor appearance in a TV debate against Donald Trump, there are increasing calls for a cognitive test for the current US President.

The neurosurgeon and medical correspondent for the US broadcaster CNN publicly expressed concerns about Biden's confused behavior and called for an examination for cognitive disorders.

Biden himself refused a medical examination in an interview with the US broadcaster ABC and a report by the Frankfurter Rundschau, arguing that he undergoes daily tests and that no doctor has yet expressed concerns about his mental state.

Ongoing Doubts

Despite his efforts at damage control in the interview, citing fatigue and jet lag as reasons for his poor performance, Biden was unable to dispel doubts about his suitability as president.

Critics, including members of his own party such as Nancy Pelosi, believe it is legitimate to ask questions about Biden's mental state, distinguishing whether his behavior is a one-off episode or an ongoing condition.

Neurosurgeon Gupta acknowledged that Biden's behaviors may be partly due to his age but also warned of possible signs of dementia.

He drew a comparison between everyday forgetfulness and more serious cognitive impairments that could affect Biden's ability to perform his duties.

Trump, Biden's opponent, had taken a cognitive test during his term in office and passed it with full marks.

Biden's critics are using this fact to put additional pressure on the president.

Biden remains steadfast and rejects all calls to withdraw his candidacy for the 2024 US election, stressing that only God can stop him.
