French President Emmanuel Macron has called European leaders to an emergency summit in Paris on Monday
The emergency meeting will address the current situation with the US.
This was announced by Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski, who spoke at the Munich Security Conference on Saturday.
Emergency meeting will discuss serious matters regarding the US situation
"I am very pleased that President Macron has summoned our leaders to Paris," said Sikorski, adding that he expects European leaders to discuss the challenges posed by U.S. President Donald Trump "in a very serious manner."
"President Trump has a method of operation that the Russians call razvedka boyem—reconnaissance through combat: You push and see what happens, then adjust your position.
And we must respond," the Polish foreign minister explained.
According to two EU officials, the meeting will take place on Monday, but it remains unclear whether all EU leaders will participate or if it will be limited to a smaller group of countries.
It is also uncertain whether other European leaders, such as British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, will be invited.
French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot, who took part in the panel discussion with Sikorski in Munich, neither confirmed nor denied the emergency summit.
Later, Sikorski announced that Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk would travel to the meeting at Macron’s invitation.
"We must show our strength and unity," Sikorski wrote in a social media post.
