Melania Trump has reportedly rejected an invitation to the White House, choosing not to meet with First Lady Jill Biden in the traditional courtesy visit between first ladies.

An Unforgivable Invasion of Privacy

According to sources close to Melania, the decision stems from a lingering sense of resentment over the FBI raid at Mar-a-Lago in August 2022, according to El Economista.

During the raid agents reportedly searched Melania’s personal wardrobe while investigating classified documents allegedly retained by former President Donald Trump.

"She won’t be going," a source told The New York Post, explaining that Melania views the raid, authorized by President Joe Biden’s administration, as an unforgivable invasion of privacy.

"The Bidens are despicable," the source added, capturing the anger Melania reportedly feels toward the current First Family.

Melania’s refusal to attend marks a stark departure from the warm welcome she received in 2016 when then-First Lady Michelle Obama hosted her at the White House after Trump’s election victory.

A Protest of the Election Results

This latest refusal follows a break in tradition in 2020, when Donald Trump declined to welcome President Joe Biden to the White House before the inauguration.

Trump’s decision at that time was widely seen as a protest of the election results, which he continued to contest even after losing the race for reelection.

Since Melania’s decision became public, neither the Trump campaign team nor the White House has issued official responses to media inquiries.

The 2022 Mar-a-Lago raid, a key factor in Melania’s choice to skip the meeting, involved a thorough search of the Trump residence, including Melania’s personal wardrobe and even Barron Trump’s bedroom, as agents looked for documents the former president was accused of keeping post-presidency.

Melania expressed her frustration in a September interview on Fox & Friends, calling the search a "violation of privacy" and describing it as “outrageous.”

She shared that it was “very upsetting to see things no one should have to see,” adding that the experience left her angry and frustrated.

In July of this year, the case related to the classified documents was dismissed by District Judge Aileen Cannon, providing temporary relief for the Trump family.

However, Melania’s refusal to participate in the White House visit highlights the deep divides between the Trumps and Bidens, underscoring lingering tensions from the tumultuous 2020 transfer of power.
