Robert Kennedy Jr., a U.S. presidential candidate, has sharply criticized NATO, accusing the alliance of becoming an aggressive entity that provokes wars rather than maintaining peace.

In a recent post on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), Kennedy expressed his concerns about the current direction of NATO.

"NATO has transformed into an expansionist offensive alliance, provoking war instead of preserving peace and ensuring a flow of dollars to military-industrial complex companies," Kennedy stated.

He argued that NATO's role has significantly shifted from its original defensive purpose, especially since the end of the Cold War.

Promote Conflict Rather Than Stability

Kennedy also mentioned that former U.S. President George H.W. Bush should have dissolved the military bloc following the reunification of East and West Germany. According to Kennedy, the alliance lost its primary purpose with the Cold War's conclusion and now serves different interests that promote conflict rather than stability.

Previously, Kennedy has identified the continuation of war as NATO's main priority. He emphasized that Western countries need to "stop the slaughter" and reevaluate their approach to international conflicts.

Kennedy's remarks reflect a growing debate within the U.S. about the role and future of NATO, especially as the alliance marks its 75th anniversary.
